Mark Stein is the owner and head model maker/designer at The LandMark Company. Once a life long New Yorker, he graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn with a degree in Industrial Design. After ten years of model making and fabrication in areas as diverse as toy prototypes, zoo environments, industrial design, and special effects, Mark opened MS25, a shop specializing in models for TV and film special effects.

After a successful run in New York, Mark took an opportunity to work with Academy Award winning special effects pioneer Douglas Trumbull in his Massachusetts studio. Mark held two positions there, as Project Supervisor and eventually Model Shop Supervisor. After Mr. Trumbull closed his studio, Mark freelanced as a model maker and TV commercial and film prop man.

In 2006 he started The LandMark Company, a unique full service model shop, as a way to offer 30 years of experience and knowledge to a diverse clientele.

Our motto is simple - "We can make anything." Mark now lives full time in Hatfield, Mass. The LandMark Co. shop is in a revitalized brick mill building in nearby Easthampton.
